[ragocyte]
This term has been used for cells found in the synovial fluid. These cells are called also inclusion cells, inclusion body cells, or rheumatoid arthritis cells (abbr. RA cells) or rheumatoid arthritis phagocytes in some older publications (Ciobanu et al, 1995; Delbarre et al, 1966; Hollander et al, 1965; Kahan et al, 1966; Mach et al, 1968). Ragocytes are phagocytes (neutrophils or macrophages) that contain distinct granules thought to consist of immune complexes. They are found in the synovial fluid of patients with rheumatoid arthritis.
