locustasulfakinins
These neuropeptides isolated from the locust Locusta migratoria belong to the class of sulfakinins, show sequence similarity with vertebrate brain-gut peptides gastrin and cholecystokinin, have myotropic activity, and influence feeding behaviour (Schoofs et al, 1990, 1993, 1997). These peptides belong to a class of neuropeptides structurally and functionally similar to the vertebrate brain-gut peptides cholecystokinin / gastrin (see: sulfakinins).
