lin-12

(abbr. for lineage-defective) This protein belongs to the EGF protein family and contains 11 copies of an EGF-like repeat. lin-12 is one of the homeotic genes found in the nematode Caenorhabditis elegans. lin-12 is a transmembrane protein involved in embryonic development. The ligand for lin-12 is lag-2, which is a member of the DSL protein family.
