hFGF

[human fibroblast growth factor] The gene encoding this factor has been isolated by Kok et al (1999) from a human heart cDNA library. hFGF shows 75 % sequence homology with FGF9. Sequence analysis shows that the protein of 168 amino acids is encoded by a variant transcript of FGF12 (see: FHF-1 [fibroblast growth factor homologous factor-1]).
