[Gram-positive Specific Serine protease] The Drosophila melanogaster serine protease Grass, encoded by gene CG5896, has been identified by Kambris et al (2006) in a screen for proteases required for the activation of the Toll receptor, which plays a key role in embryo patterning and immune responses.
