(used synonymously: chemorepulsion) This term (Latin: fugere, to flee from) has been suggested for a process that involves the active movement of leukocytes away from chemokinetic agents (Vianello et al, 2005). Agents that cause fugetaxis may be referred to as chemorepellents or negative guidance cues (see also: guidance cues).
