flg
[fms-like gene] This human gene has been isolated initially by sequence homology screening with sequences derived from the fms gene. The human flg gene maps to chromosome 8p12.
flg is expressed mainly in skin, brain, and lung tissues. flg encodes a receptor for aFGF and bFGF with tyrosine kinase activity and is known also as FGFR1, corresponding to FGFR1 IIIc (alternative designation: FGFR1c) [fibroblast growth factor receptor-1 variant IIIc]. It is identical with a gene called also N-sam (see: K-sam) and is related closely to another protein called TK-14.
