K-sam

[KATO-III cell-derived stomach cancer amplified gene] This gene was identified initially as a gene amplified and overexpressed in poorly differentiated human stomach cancers. It shows significant homology with the chicken and human receptor for bFGF

K-sam is called also FGFR3, arising from differential splicing of the FGFR2 receptor gene (see: bFGF). It encodes a protein of 682 amino acids with an intrinsic tyrosine-specific protein kinase activity in its intracellular domain. This receptor is synthesized also in a secreted form which may lack the kinase domain.

K-sam shows close homology to a receptor for the murine ... ... ... ... ... Subscribe to continue reading! ... ...
