Wengen serves as a receptor for the TNF homolog Eiger [EDA-like cell death trigger] and is involved in cell death by apoptosis (Kauppila et al, 2003). The protein is also being referred to as vader in databanks (accession number: AAM66764; Eiger being referred to as darth).
