WWE domain
[WWE domains]
This protein domain, named after its most conserved residues, is a conserved globular domain predicted to mediate specific protein-protein interactions in ubiquitin and ADP-ribose conjugation systems and to recognize targets for ubiquitination (Aravind, 2001). Zhang et al (2011) have shown that RNF146 directly interacts with poly(ADP-ribose) (PAR), the product of PARP1, through its WWE domain, and promotes degradation of PARsylated proteins.
