This peptide is a hydrolysis product of caseins in ovine milk and is derived from casein-kappa(Gómez-Ruiz et al, 2007). The peptide acts as a potent inhibitor for ACE [angiotensin-converting enzyme; angiotensin-1 converting enzyme]. Oral administration of the peptide to spontaneously hypertensive rats shows clear decreases in systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure (Miguel et al, 2010).
