This is a splice variant of human CEACAM1 [CEA-related cell adhesion molecule 1; Carcinoembryonic antigen-related cell adhesion molecule 1] (termed CEACAM1-4C1) and corresponds to BGPg [biliary glycoprotein g] (Kuroki et al, 1991). The variant lacks the transmembrane and cytoplasmic domain that exist in other variants (BGPa, BGPb, BGPc and BGPd). For nomenclature regarding this and related proteins see also Beauchemin et al (1999). In the nomenclature of CD antigens this protein has been given the designation CD66a ... ... ... ... ...
