VINP28

[VCAM-1 internalizing peptide-28] This peptide with the sequence VHPKQHR has been identified by Kelly et al (2006) by in vivo phage display selection. VINP28 is a cell-targeting peptide. VINP28 binds specifically to CD106 (VCAM-1) and allows imaging of CD106(+) cells. The peptide, conjugated to the magnetofluorescent nanoparticle, CLIO-Cy5.5 is targeted primarily to endothelial cells, with a 9-fold specificity over macrophages and 5-fold specificity over fibroblasts.
