[testis spermatogenesis apoptosis-related gene 4; testis spermatogenesis apoptosis-related protein 4] The human TSARG4 gene is located on chromosome 20q11.2. The human protein (379 amino acids) is expressed in many tissues whereas the murine protein is expressed specifically in the testis. The protein may play a role in spermatogenesis and cell death by apoptosis in sperm cells. The approved gene symbol is SUN5 [Sad1 and UNC84 domain containing 5; SUN domain-containing protein 5], a designation based on the presence of a SUN domain. An older designation is SPAG4L [
