Somatocrinin

This name has been proposed for GRF [Growth hormone releasing factor] isolated from rat hypothalamus and human islet cell tumor of the pancreas, both of which act as secretagogues of growth hormone by primary cultures of rat pituitary cells. This factor is now being referred to as GHRH [Growth hormone releasing hormone].
