[signal-transducing adaptor molecule-2] This protein is the same as chicken EAST [epidermal growth factor receptor-associated protein with SH3 and TAM domains].
This protein is related to STAM (Endo et al, 2000). It contains an SH3 homology domain and an immunoreceptor tyrosine-based activation motif (ITAM). The protein is associated with the Janus kinases JAK2 and JAK3 and has been shown to be involved in the signaling for DNA synthesis and myc induction mediated by IL2 and GM-CSF.
