[Neuroblastoma-derived sulfhydryl oxidase] The approved gene symbol is QSOX2 [quiescin Q6 sulfhydryl oxidase 2]. The protein is being referred to also as Sulfhydryl oxidase 2 or QSCN6L1 [Quiescin Q6-like protein 1].
This gene has been identified by Wittke et al (2003) as one of several genes that regulate sensitization to cell death induced by IFN-gamma in neuroblastoma cells. Sequence analysis shows that SOXN is highly homologous to members of the sulfhydryl oxidase / Quiescin 6 family, a class of enzymes that catalyze the formation of disulfide bonds in peptides and proteins (for a related protein see also: QSOX1).
