a mutant subline of the murine bone marrow-derived pro-B-cell line BaF3 obtained after chemical mutagenesis. The cells are no longer dependent on IL3 but have become dependent on the stromal cell line ST2. The requirement for the presence of ST2 feeder cells can be abrogated by a soluble factor produced by bone marrow stromal cells, ShIF (Tulin et al, 2001).
