RpLP2

[ribosomal protein large P2]; also: ribosomal protein P2; 60S acidic ribosomal protein P2; abbr. also RPP2 (Yoshiyama et al, 2002). RpLP2 is a component of the 60S subunit of ribosomes (Rich and Steitz, 1987) and plays a role in the elongation step of protein synthesis. For the gene structure see also: Yoshiyama et al (2002). The protein has been identified independently as NY-REN-44 [Renal carcinoma antigen NY-REN-44] (Scanlan et al, 1999).
