Rek7

Rek7 is a receptor tyrosine kinase related to the EPH receptor (Winslow et al, 1995). It is expressed exclusively in the nervous system, predominantly in hippocampus and cortex. It is involved in the guidance of retinal, cortical, and hippocampal axons during development (Gao et al, 1998). The ligand has been identified as AL-1 (ephrin A5). Mouse Rek7 is identical with EphA5 [Eph receptor A5]. See: Ephrins.
