RPF

[rabbit peritoneal factor] This factor of approximately 6.8 kDa is isolated from rabbit peritoneal cavity fluid following injection of zymosan (Beaubien et al, 1990). RPF is a strong chemoattractant for neutrophils (see also: Chemotaxis) and induces edemas in vivo.

The known aminoterminal amino acid sequence suggests that rabbit RPF and human IL8 are homologous.
