[Ras association domain-containing protein 3] RASSF3 has been identified by Tommasi et al (2002). RASSF3, which shares almost 60 % amino acid homology with putative tumor suppressor gene RASSF1, is a member of a family of proteins associating with the ras oncogene. RASSF3 is expressed ubiquitously in all normal tissues and cancer cell lines analysed and appears to be down-regulated in several cancer cell lines.
Jacquemart et al (2009) have reported that RASSF3 is responsible in part for resistance to mammary tumor development in neu transgenic mice. RASSF3 expression is up-regulated in neu-specific mouse mammary tumors. In vitro overexpression of RASSF3 inhibits cell proliferation in HER2/neu positive
