Pancortins
Pancortin mRNA is expressed predominantly in the adult cerebral cortex of rodents. Four different cDNA types, designated Pancortin-1, Pancortin-2, Pancortin-3, Pancortin-4 have been described (Nagano et al, 1998, 2000). These cDNAs share a common sequence in the middle of their structure, with two variations at the N-terminal (A1 or A2 part) and C-terminal (C1 or C2 part) sides, respectively. A2-Pancortins are Pancortin-3 and Pancortin-4. A1-Pancortins are Pancortin-1 and Pancortin-2.
