Ohmyungsamycin A and Ohmyungsamycin B are cytotoxic and antimicrobial cyclic depsipeptides (having both peptide and ester linkages) isolated from a marine bacterial strain belonging to the Streptomyces genus. The peptides, which contain various unusual amino acids (N-methyl-4-methoxytrytophan, beta-hydroxyphenylalanine, and N,N-dimethylvaline,) are active against Bacillus subtilis, Kocuria rhizophila, and Proteus hauseri and a number of different cancer cell lines (Um et al, 2013).
Both peptides are active against Mycobacterium tuberculosis, activating autophagy in murine bone marrow-derived macrophages. Activation of autophagy by these peptides
