Neuregulin-3
abbr. NRG3 (approved gene symbol). See also: Neuregulins. An alternative designation is HRG3 [heregulin-3]. Neuregulin-3 is structurally related to Neuregulin-1. The human gene encoding NRG3 has been mapped to chromosome 10q22-q23 (Gizatullin et al, 2000).
The expression of Neuregulin-3 appears to be highly restricted to the developing and adult nervous system (Zhang et al, 1997), but expression has been found also in other cell types, including, for example, cumulus cells, multiple myeloma cells, platelets, Sertoli cells.
