[Neuronal apoptosis inhibitor protein 3] This is one of several mouse paralogs of human NAIP [Neuronal apoptosis inhibitor protein]. The genes have been identified by Endrizzi et al (2000) and Yaraghi et al (1998). The function of the encoded protein is not known. A databank synonym is BIRC1c [baculoviral IAP repeat-containing protein-1c]. The gene is being referred to also as NAIP-rs5 [neuronal apoptosis inhibitory protein related sequence 5] and Nlrb1c (for nomenclature see also: Ting et al, 2008).
