MS-5

The murine MS-5 stromal cell line has been established by Itoh et al (1989) after irradiation of the adherent cells in long-term BMC (bone marrow culture). MS-5 cells do not express alkaline phosphatase-, peroxidase-, and factor VIII, and are positive for periodic acid-Schiff and nonspecific esterase. The cells produce extracellular matrix proteins such as fibronectin, laminin, and collagen type 1.
