[met murine hepatocyte] stable immortalized cell lines obtained from transgenic mice expresssing a truncated constitutively active form of the human met oncogene (HGF receptor). These lines contain epithelial cells and palmate cells. Epithelial cells resemble the parental populations and can be induced to express hepatic functions. Palmate cells are flattened cells with multiple projections and a dispersed growth habit that do not have these properties. They are non-transformed bipotential cell that can differentiate into hepatocytes and bile duct-like
