[mitogen inducible nuclear orphan receptor] This receptor has been identified by Wang et al (2009). MINOR is a member of the nur-77 family of nuclear orphan receptors, which includes nur-77 and Nurr-1. The approved gene symbol is NR4A3 [nuclear receptor subfamily 4 group A member 3; nuclear receptor 4A3].
MINOR expression becomes highly upregulated upon activation of dendritic cells and its expression leads to the initiation of cell death by apoptosis in mature dendritic cells. Blockade of MINOR expression dramatically decreases apoptosis in dendritic cells
