[molt-inhibiting hormone] This crustacean neurohormone is a member of a peptide family that also comprises VIH [vitellogenesis-inhibiting hormone], MIH [molt-inhibiting hormone], CHH [crustacean hyperglycaemic hormone], and MOIH [mandibular organ-inhibiting hormone] (Keller 1992; Webster et al, 2012). MIH from the kuruma prawn Penaeus japonicus has been described independently as SGP-IV [sinus gland peptide IV].
