[mitogen-activated kinase activating death domain protein; MAP-kinase activating death domain] MADD is highly homologous to Rab3 GEP [RAB3 GDP/GTP exchange protein], a rat GDP/GTP exchange protein (Brown and Howe, 1998), which appears to be the rat counterpart of the human protein. MADD appears to be a splice variant of a gene identified as IG20 (Kurada et al, 2009). The MADD cDNA and protein are virtually identical with DENN. The cDNA has been described independently also as KIAA0358.
MADD has been shown to associate with the death domain of the type 1 TNF receptor
