approved gene symbol: LIN28A [lin28 homolog A] This protein is known also as ZCCHC1 [zinc finger CCHC domain-containing protein 1]. The protein contains a cold-shock domain and CSDD1 is used as a databank synonym. LIN28 is the mammalian homolog of the Caenorhabditis elegans gene lin28, a gene that functions as a regulator of developmental timing and must be expressed in the first larval stage and downregulated by the second stage for normal nematode development.
