[leucine-rich repeat-containing G-protein-coupled receptor 8] LGR8 is being referred to as RXFP2 [relaxin family peptide receptor 2] (Bathgate et al, 2006). An older designation is RXFPR2. The receptor is known also as GPR106 [G-protein-coupled receptor 106].
Feng et al (2005) have reported that the INSL3 / LGR8 and relaxin / LGR7 pathways are distinct and separate in vivo and have proposed to rename LGR8 as INSL3R (INSL3 receptor) and LGR7 as RLNR (relaxin receptor). Muda et al (2005) have identified several splice variants of LGR8. LGR8.1
