abbr. RLN, also RLX. Human relaxin is a heteromeric peptide consisting of an A chain and a B chain generated by proteolytic cleavage of the precursor, Prorelaxin H1. The molecule is stabilized by inter- and intra-chain disulfide bonds (Schwabe and Büllesbach 1994). The terms B29 relaxin and B31 relaxin and B33 relaxin refer to length variations at the C-terminus of the B-chain (Niall et al, 1979)
