[leukemia-growth-promoting factor] This biochemically uncharacterized factor of approximately 25 kDa is found in the conditioned medium of the thymic reticuloepithelial-like cell line B6TE. LGPF stimulates the growth of a murine leukemia subline (L17R).
The factor is not identical with IL1, IL2, IL3, and GM-CSF. The growth of L17R leukemia cells is not only stimulated by LGPF, but also by pituitary and brain fibroblast growth factor (see: FGF).
