[Lampetra fluviatilis chemotactic factor] This factor is encoded by a cDNA representing the most abundant component (12 %) of a river lamprey (Lampetra fluviatilis) leukocyte library subtracted with liver cDNA. The cDNA encodes a presumably secreted protein of 101 residues. The lamprey protein has the highest similarity to the chicken EMF-1 (40 %) and mammalian IL8 (32-33 %). It lacks the ELR motif essential for the function of the mammalian IL8-related chemokines.
