LETTCASLCYPS

This peptide, identified by Higgins et al (2004) through phage display selection is a cell-targeting peptide for Peyer's patch M cells. It binds to Caco-2 cell membranes when immobilized on the surface of a model particulate and also binds to human intestinal epithelium. The D-analog of this peptide has been shown to enhance the delivery of polystyrene particles to M cells in vivo in a mouse model, and these particles are delivered into Peyer's patch tissue.
