[lysosome-associated membrane glycoprotein-1] In the nomenclature of CD antigen this protein has been given the designation CD107a.
LAMP-1 is an abundant protein component of the lysosomal membrane (Kornfeld and Mellman, 1989). It is a type 1 transmembrane proteins with a large luminal domain, one transmembrane domain, and a C-terminal cytoplasmic tail. The cytosolic tail contains necessary information for its intracellular targeting after biosynthesis (Hunziker et al, 1996).
