KIR2DS2

(approved gene symbol) [Killer cell immunoglobulin-like receptor 2DS2] A KIR2DS2 cDNA, termed CL49 [clone 49] encoding a type 1 transmembrane protein has been cloned by Wagtmann et al (1995). Biassoni et al (1996) have cloned the KIR2DS2 cDNA, which they termed 183ACTI.

Yen et al (2001) have reported an association of KIR2DS2 and vascular complications in patients with rheumatoid arthritis, suggesting a participation in the pathogenesis of rheumatoid arthritis vasculitis and possibly other acute and chronic diseases characterized by vascular inflammation involving endothelial cells.
