[Immunoglobulin production stimulating factor] IPSF activity is found in conditioned medium of the human B-lymphoblastoid cell line, HO-323, and in Burkitt's lymphoma Namalwa cells. The factor enhances IgM production in human-human and mouse-mouse hybridomas but is ineffective on IgG producers.
IPSF-2-alpha purified from Namalwa cells is a 112 kDa protein composed of a 40 kDa and two 36 kDa subunits. The 36 kDa protein shows IPSF activity. IPSF-2-alpha is identical with liver-derived Glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (GPD; EC1.2.1.12
