This is the approved gene symbol for the beta subunit of the IFN-alpha receptor (for the other subunit see also: IFNAR1). The subunit is being referred to also as IFN-alpha/beta receptor 2. The approved name is interferon (alpha, beta and omega) receptor 2, as the receptor can bind IFN-alpha, IFN-beta, and IFN-omega Another designation is IFN-alphaR2. An older designation is IFNABR.
