[human uterine angiogenesis factor] HUAF is an extract derived from decidua tissues (Lindenbaum et al, 1989, 1991; Mirsky and Lindenbaum, 1992). The major component responsible for its activity in angiogenesis in vivo and in vitro is due probably to a mixture of basic and acidic fibroblast growth factors (see: aFGF, bFGF), but the mixture may contain factors also related to VEGF.
