Foxy5
This peptide (MDGCEL; formyl-MDGCEL; formyl-Met-Asp-Gly-Cys-Glu-Leu) is derived from Wnt-5a and corresponds to Wnt-5a(317-322). Foxy5 mimics the anti-migratory and anti-invasive effects of Wnt-5a in breast cancer cell lines (Säfholm et al, 2006, 2008), and has anti-tumorigenic effects on breast cancer in vivo (Säfholm et al, 2008). Foxy5 mimics the pro-migratory effects of Wnt-5a in A2058 melanoma cells and thus functions as a Wnt-5a agonist in diverse cell types (Jenei et al, 2009).
