[fat/vessel-derived secretory protein] This protein of unknown function is encoded by the CCDC3 [Coiled-coil domain-containing protein 3] gene. Kobayashi et al (2010) have renamed the protein Favine.

Favine is a secreted protein expressed abundantly by endothelial cells in the aorta and adipocytes in adipose tissues. mRNA levels are higher in adipose tissues of obese db/db mice than control mice.
