This is a bioactive fragment of the antimicrobial peptide LL-37 (see: cathelicidins), corresponding to LL-37(17-29). The peptide has been shown to induce mast cell activation by activating the receptor MRGX2 [MAS-related GPR member X2; Mas-related G-protein-coupled receptor member X2].
