(approved gene symbol) [endoplasmic reticulum metallopeptidase 1] The cDNA has been cloned independently as KIAA1815. The human gene is the homolog of a rat gene identified as Fxna [Felix-ina] by Garcia-Rudaz et al (2007). Fxna is expressed in the neonatal ovary during folliculogenesis but is expressed widely in rat tissues. Sequence analysis shows that Fxna is a member of the metallopeptidase family M28. It contains at least 8 transmembrane domains near the C-terminus, suggesting that it is a membrane protein, and a peptidase domain near the N terminus. Fxna
