DEFB42

[Beta-Defensin-42] DEFB42 is a Beta-Defensin that has been identified by Jalkanen et al (2005). It is expressed in the male urogenital tract epithelium and its expression is regulated by androgens. The protein may have a role in the antimicrobial protection of sperm and urogenital tract epithelia.
