DCAF3

[Ddb1- and Cul4-associated factor 3] This protein has been identified by Jin et al (2006). It is a component of the Cullin 4 E3 ubiquitin ligases, which also contain the triple beta propeller Ddb1 adaptor protein. These Cullin-based E3 ligases target substrates for ubiquitin-dependent degradation by the 26S proteasome (Pintard et al, 2004; Jackson and Xiong, 2009).

Sequence analysis shows that DCAF3 is identical with AMBRA1, which is a regulator of autophagy.
