[differential screening-selected gene aberrative in neuroblastoma] The approved gene symbol for this gene is NBL1 [neuroblastoma, Suppression of Tumorigenicity-1]. It is being referred to also as DAND1 [DAN domain family member 1]. The gene has been described also as NO3 gene, which shows tumor suppressor activity in cells transformed by the src oncogene (Ozaki and Sakiyama, 1993, 1994). DAN is a secreted glycoprotein related to Xenopus laevis cerberus (Stanley et al, 1998). The DAN gene was isolated by means of differential screening of rat 3Y1 fibroblasts and Rous sarcoma virus-transformed 3Y1 (SR-Y1) cells
