[CXC-Chemokine receptor 7] This designation has been proposed by Balabanian et al (2005) for a receptor identified originally as RDC1 or CCX-CKR2 (Melikian et al, 2004). The approved gene symbol for the human gene is ACKR3 [atypical chemokine receptor 3]. The receptor is known also as CMKOR1 [chemokine orphan receptor 1] and GPR159 [G-protein-coupled receptor-159].
The receptor is expressed in T-cells and has been shown to bind CXCL12 (Balabanian et al (2005). Burns et al (2006) have shown that this receptor also binds the chemokine CXCL11
